Benefits...
Publications
The
Resource Guide lists publications and videos on technology, safety
& health, and business management that are available at discounted
prices for PDCA members. It also makes available many items free
to members, including PDCA standards.
|
Education
The
PDCA Educational Foundation has been established to provide and support
a variety of publications, seminars and video tapes to enhance educational
opportunities. Annual national and state conventions offer sessions
on specific and timely subjects. The Dallas Chapter PDCA holds
quarterly
meetings with informative speakers who are familiar with the local
market and the needs of members in the D/FW area. These meetings allow
contractor and associate members to discuss problems, opportunities,
and technological developments. |
Legislative
Impact
PDCA maintains a full time liaison between PDCA members and the federal
government. This enables members to have a voice in the regulatory
issues that affect our industry. Working together, we can block potentially
damaging legislation while promoting laws that benefit the industry. |
Safety
Practical programs and guides for implementing an effective company-wide
safety program are available in publications Tool Box Topics and Safety
System Manual. Safety Systems III is a computer-based safety management
program for painting and decorating contractors. Members also have
available the Hazardous Waste and OSHA Hazard Communications regulations. |
|
Networking
The most valuable tool available to members is the opportunity to
network with other painting contractors in your area. Years of valuable
experience come together in one place to share knowledge.
The
Dallas Chapter also has a strong associate member base, which provides
contractor members with direct contact with those companies from
whom they purchase supplies and services.
|
Contractor
Certification
PDCA offers a professional designation to both residential and commercial
contractors. To become certified, members must submit examples of
their mission statement, business plan, and safety program. They must
also show proof that they appropriate insurance, bonding and licenses.
